⚠️ Important

WikiRemedy is an information platform. It is not a medical service. Nothing on this platform constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. Always consult a qualified health professional before starting, stopping or changing any health remedy or medication.

What WikiRemedy provides

WikiRemedy collects and displays:

  • Community experience — anonymised ratings and comments from people who have personally tried remedies
  • Research evidence summaries — plain-English summaries of published studies, categorised by evidence level

Both are provided for informational purposes only.

What WikiRemedy does not provide

WikiRemedy does not provide and must not be interpreted as providing:

  • Medical advice — we do not advise you on what to do about your health
  • Diagnosis — we do not identify, suggest or confirm any medical condition
  • Treatment recommendations — we do not recommend specific remedies for specific individuals
  • Dosage guidance — dosage information comes from published sources, not clinical assessment of your circumstances
  • Clinical endorsement — "Strong" evidence means published research supports general use. It does not mean it is right for you.

Community content

Ratings and comments are submitted by anonymous members of the public. WikiRemedy does not verify individual claims. A rating of 4.7 stars from 312 people means 312 anonymous individuals reported positive experience — it is not a clinical finding.

People's experiences vary significantly based on their individual health circumstances. A remedy that helped many people may not help you, and may cause harm in your specific situation.

Research evidence labels

Our evidence labels — No Evidence, Limited, Moderate, Strong, Very Strong — are based on summaries of published research. They reflect the state of the published literature, not clinical certainty.

“No evidence” does not mean a remedy is ineffective — it means we found no published studies. “Very Strong” evidence does not guarantee the remedy will work for you or is safe in your circumstances.

Before trying any remedy

Always consult a qualified health professional — doctor, pharmacist, naturopath or other registered practitioner — before:

  • Starting any new supplement, medication or health practice
  • Stopping any existing medication or treatment
  • Using any remedy if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, elderly, or have an existing medical condition
  • Giving any remedy to a child

Drug interactions and contraindications

Some natural remedies have significant interactions with prescription medications. The caveats listed on each remedy page are general warnings based on published information — they are not exhaustive. Your pharmacist is the best resource for checking interactions with your specific medications.

Regulatory note

WikiRemedy does not make therapeutic claims about any product or remedy. This platform is intended to help people understand and share their experiences with commonly used health approaches. It is not a therapeutic goods advertisement under the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 (Cth) or the TGA Advertising Code.

🚨 Emergency situations

WikiRemedy is not an emergency service. If you are experiencing a medical emergency — chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe allergic reaction, loss of consciousness, or any life-threatening situation — stop using this app and call 000 immediately.
