Reduces trigger point activity in forearm flexors and extensors. Stimulates endogenous opioid and serotonin release. May modulate central sensitisation contributing to chronic upper limb pain.
Evidence specific to RSI (as a broad diagnostic category) is limited. Better evidence for specific diagnoses within RSI (lateral epicondylalgia, carpal tunnel). Best as an adjunct to ergonomic modification and exercise.
