for Acne
A third-generation topical retinoid available OTC (Differin 0.1%) that normalises skin cell turnover, unclogs pores, and reduces comedones — the root cause of most acne.
How it works
Adapalene binds to retinoic acid receptors in keratinocytes, normalising follicular keratinisation and preventing microcomedone formation. Also reduces inflammatory mediators in the follicle.
What to watch for
Initial dryness, peeling, and purging are common in the first 4–6 weeks. Use sunscreen daily — retinoids increase sun sensitivity. Avoid during pregnancy. Start every other night and build up.
