How it works
Azelaic acid inhibits tyrosinase (reducing PIH), has keratolytic effects on the follicle, and directly inhibits P. acnes growth through its antimicrobial properties.
Milder than benzoyl peroxide — well tolerated by sensitive skin. May cause initial tingling. 20% requires prescription; 10–15% available OTC. Safe in pregnancy.
