How it works
Biotin is essential for keratin production. Deficiency causes hair loss and brittle nails. Supplementation corrects deficiency and may improve hair strength.
Only clearly effective if biotin deficiency is present — which is rare in people with adequate diet. High doses can interfere with thyroid and other blood tests — tell your doctor you are taking it. Evidence in non-deficient individuals is weak.
Evidence for biotin in non-deficient individuals is largely anecdotal and from poor-quality studies. Effective for documented deficiency but widely overhyped for general hair loss.

“Some improvement but not as dramatic as I hoped. Might need longer to see full benefit. Still continuing.”
