for Rosacea
A prescription topical alpha-2 adrenergic agonist gel applied to directly reduce facial redness (erythema) in rosacea by constricting facial blood vessels.
How it works
Brimonidine activates alpha-2 adrenergic receptors in facial blood vessels, causing direct vasoconstriction and reducing the persistent background redness of erythematotelangiectatic rosacea.
What to watch for
Effects last 8–12 hours; redness may return with possible rebound flush. Not effective for papulopustular rosacea. Some users experience paradoxical erythema.
