How it works
Vitamin C is an essential cofactor for collagen cross-linking. Gelatine/collagen peptides provide the amino acid substrate for tendon collagen synthesis. Taken 1 hour before exercise to coincide with peak collagen synthesis window.
Specific timing protocol: 15g collagen + 50mg vitamin C, 1 hour before the exercise session. Evidence from Shaw et al. (2017) used a specific food-derived gelatine product. Choose hydrolysed collagen with vitamin C.
