How it works
Blocks H1 histamine receptors and muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in the vomiting centre and vestibular pathway, suppressing nausea and vomiting reflexes.
What to watch for
Causes significant drowsiness — do not drive or operate machinery. Avoid alcohol. Use with caution in pregnancy. Can cause dry mouth and urinary retention in older adults.
