An amino acid that supports gut epithelial integrity. Particularly promising for post-infectious IBS, where intestinal permeability is increased.

How it works

Primary fuel for enterocytes (gut lining cells). Reduces intestinal permeability by supporting tight junction proteins, and may reduce visceral hypersensitivity.

What to watch for

Most evidence is for post-infectious IBS. Less clear benefit for IBS without a prior gut infection. Generally very safe at recommended doses.
