for Chronic Fatigue
A form of magnesium bound to malic acid, both of which play roles in cellular energy production. Used by some people with chronic fatigue to address widespread muscle pain and low energy.
How it works
Malic acid is a key intermediate in the Krebs cycle and magnesium acts as a cofactor in ATP synthesis. Some research suggests a subset of CFS patients have lower magnesium and malic acid levels.
What to watch for
Quality evidence is limited. Can cause loose stools at high doses. Do not self-treat suspected deficiency without testing.
