How it works

Omega-3s reduce inflammation in the meibomian glands (which produce the oil layer of tears) and improve the quality and stability of the lipid tear film layer.

Effects take months to build up. Algae-based omega-3 available for vegetarians. May have mild blood-thinning effects at high doses.

Why moderate evidence

Several RCTs show omega-3 supplementation improves dry eye symptoms and tear film quality. Evidence is positive but effect size varies across studies.

Noticeably less frequent issues after about a month of consistent use. Worth sticking with.

Good results overall. Had to adjust the approach slightly but found what worked for me. Would recommend trying it.

Some improvement but not as dramatic as I hoped. Might need longer to see full benefit. Still continuing.
