How it works

ORS uses the sodium-glucose cotransporter to maximise absorption even during gastroenteritis. Maintaining electrolyte balance stabilises autonomic nervous system tone and reduces nausea.

Sip slowly in small volumes (5โ€“15ml every few minutes) if vomiting is present. Ice chips or popsicles may be better tolerated. Treats hydration, not the underlying cause.

Dietary changes

Consider speaking to a GP, dietitian, or naturopath before making significant changes to your diet, particularly if you have an existing health condition.
