Over-the-counter analgesics and antipyretics used to relieve the fever, headache, body aches, and sore throat associated with cold and flu.
How it works
Paracetamol inhibits central prostaglandin synthesis for antipyretic and analgesic effects. Ibuprofen inhibits COX-1/2, reducing prostaglandins peripherally and centrally.
What to watch for
Do not exceed recommended doses. Aspirin should not be given to children with viral illness (Reye's syndrome risk).
