for Sciatica
For sciatica caused by piriformis syndrome — where the sciatic nerve is compressed by the piriformis muscle — targeted stretching and release of the piriformis is highly effective.
How it works
Lengthens the piriformis muscle, reducing compression on the sciatic nerve passing beneath (or through) it. Combined with hip external rotator strengthening for lasting relief.
What to watch for
Only relevant when piriformis syndrome is the cause — not for disc-related sciatica. A physiotherapist can differentiate. Aggressive deep tissue massage of the piriformis can temporarily worsen symptoms.
