How it works
A beta-hydroxy acid that penetrates oil-filled pores, exfoliates the pore lining, dissolves comedones and has mild anti-inflammatory properties.
Can cause dryness and mild irritation. Avoid during pregnancy. Do not use alongside other exfoliating acids without gradual introduction.
Multiple RCTs confirm salicylic acid effectively reduces comedonal and mild inflammatory acne. Particularly effective for blackheads and whiteheads.
