for Sore Throat
Gargling with warm salt water (quarter teaspoon salt in 240ml warm water) for 30 seconds, 3–4 times daily.
How it works
Salt water creates a hypertonic environment that draws fluid from swollen throat tissue, reducing oedema. May also have mild antimicrobial effects and flush pathogens from throat surface.
What to watch for
Do not swallow the salt water. Safe for repeated use. Not effective for bacterial tonsillitis requiring antibiotics.
