How it works
UV radiation slows the rapid skin cell proliferation characteristic of psoriasis and suppresses local immune activation. UVB at 311nm is the most therapeutic wavelength.
Avoid sunburn which can trigger a Koebner response (new psoriasis at sites of skin injury). Fair-skinned individuals need shorter exposure times. Medical phototherapy is more precise and safer than uncontrolled sun exposure.
UV phototherapy is one of the most evidence-supported psoriasis treatments. Narrowband UVB clears psoriasis in 60-70% of patients. Natural sunlight provides similar but less controlled benefit.

“Some improvement but not as dramatic as I hoped. Might need longer to see full benefit. Still continuing.”
