for Muscle Pain
Tart cherry juice is rich in anthocyanins with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, with multiple RCTs showing significant reduction in exercise-induced muscle pain and damage.
How it works
Anthocyanins inhibit COX enzymes and reduce pro-inflammatory prostaglandins. Antioxidant capacity reduces lipid peroxidation and reactive oxygen species that damage exercise-stressed muscle fibres.
What to watch for
Most evidence from tart cherry concentrate or juice (not sweet cherry). Typical dose: 480ml tart cherry juice or 30ml concentrate twice daily. High in sugar â whole cherry or supplement capsule forms available.
