How it works
Anaesthetic lozenges (benzocaine) temporarily block pain signals from throat nerve endings. Menthol lozenges activate cold receptors providing a cooling sensation that reduces pain perception.
Symptomatic relief only — does not treat the underlying cause. Benzocaine lozenges should not be used in children under 2. Seek medical attention if throat is severely swollen or painful.
