How it works
Anaesthetic lozenges (benzocaine) temporarily block pain signals from throat nerve endings. Menthol lozenges activate cold receptors providing a cooling sensation that reduces pain perception.
Symptomatic relief only β does not treat the underlying cause. Benzocaine lozenges should not be used in children under 2. Seek medical attention if throat is severely swollen or painful.
RCTs confirm medicated lozenges provide significantly greater pain relief than placebo. Widely recommended as symptomatic treatment in primary care guidelines.

βSome improvement but not as dramatic as I hoped. Might need longer to see full benefit. Still continuing.β
