How it works

Curcumin inhibits NF-κB and COX-2 inflammatory pathways, reducing production of inflammatory cytokines including TNF-α and IL-6 that drive joint inflammation.

Standard curcumin has poor bioavailability — choose formulations with piperine (black pepper extract) or phospholipid complexes. Avoid high doses with blood thinners.

Why moderate evidence

Multiple RCTs show curcumin comparably effective to ibuprofen for knee osteoarthritis pain with fewer gastrointestinal side effects.

Noticeably less frequent issues after about a month of consistent use. Worth sticking with.

Good results overall. Had to adjust the approach slightly but found what worked for me. Would recommend trying it.

Some improvement but not as dramatic as I hoped. Might need longer to see full benefit. Still continuing.
