for Nausea
Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) supplementation, particularly effective for nausea in early pregnancy and recommended as a first-line option for pregnancy-related morning sickness.
How it works
Vitamin B6 is involved in serotonin synthesis and neurotransmitter metabolism in the brain and gut. Its antiemetic mechanism is clinically well-documented.
What to watch for
Doses above 200mg/day long-term can cause peripheral neuropathy. Standard antiemetic doses (10–25mg three times daily) are safe in pregnancy. Less evidence for non-pregnancy nausea.
