Vitamin C reduces ferric iron to the more absorbable ferrous form and forms a soluble chelate with iron that resists inhibition by phytates and polyphenols.
Take 100-200mg vitamin C at the same time as iron supplement or iron-rich meal. Fruit juice or fresh fruit also works.
