How it works

Contains tannins and gallic acid which act as natural astringents, reducing swelling, itching and minor bleeding by tightening skin tissue.

For external use only. Avoid products with added alcohol which can dry and irritate the skin. Not a treatment for internal haemorrhoids.

Why moderate evidence

Limited but supportive clinical evidence. Witch hazel is widely recommended in clinical guidelines as a safe topical remedy for external haemorrhoid symptoms.
