How it works

Aerobic exercise increases endogenous opioid and serotonin levels, reducing central sensitisation. Improves HPA axis function dysregulated in fibromyalgia. Exercise-induced analgesia is well-established in chronic pain.

Start very gradually — fibromyalgia patients can experience post-exertional pain amplification with sudden increases in exercise. Even 10-minute walks 3x/week provides benefit initially. Progress slowly over months.
