How it works
Induces immune tolerance by shifting the response from Th2 to Th1/Treg, reducing IgE levels and mast cell sensitivity. The only treatment that changes the underlying allergic disease.
What to watch for
Requires specialist referral. Subcutaneous injection and sublingual tablet/drops forms are available. Risk of anaphylaxis with injection form (rare, managed in clinic).
