How it works

Biofeedback teaches patients to voluntarily control physiological responses — including frontalis muscle tension, peripheral skin temperature, and heart rate variability — that are associated with migraine onset and escalation.

Requires access to a trained therapist and often multiple sessions before benefit is seen. Benefits may require ongoing practice to maintain. Access and cost vary widely.

Finding a practitioner

Seek a qualified and registered practitioner. In Australia, check AHPRA (ahpra.gov.au) for registered health practitioners including physiotherapists, psychologists, and Chinese medicine practitioners.

Noticeably less frequent issues after about a month of consistent use. Worth sticking with.

Good results overall. Had to adjust the approach slightly but found what worked for me. Would recommend trying it.

Some improvement but not as dramatic as I hoped. Might need longer to see full benefit. Still continuing.
