for UTI
D-Mannose supplement (2g daily for prevention, 2g every 2–3 hours during infection) to prevent bacterial adhesion to the bladder wall.
How it works
D-Mannose is a simple sugar that binds to the same receptors on the bladder wall that E. coli use to attach. Bacteria bind to D-Mannose and are flushed out in urine instead.
What to watch for
Most evidence is for E. coli UTIs which account for 80-90% of cases. Not effective against non-E. coli bacteria. Seek medical treatment if symptoms worsen.
