How it works
D-Mannose is a simple sugar that binds to the same receptors on the bladder wall that E. coli use to attach. Bacteria bind to D-Mannose and are flushed out in urine instead.
Most evidence is for E. coli UTIs which account for 80-90% of cases. Not effective against non-E. coli bacteria. Seek medical treatment if symptoms worsen.
Small RCTs show D-Mannose comparable to low-dose antibiotics for UTI prevention and reduces recurrence by approximately 45%. Promising but more large trials needed.

“Some improvement but not as dramatic as I hoped. Might need longer to see full benefit. Still continuing.”
