Epley Manoeuvre (for BPPV)

for Dizziness

The Epley manoeuvre is a series of head movements to reposition displaced crystals in the inner ear causing benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) - the most common cause of vertigo.

How it works

BPPV is caused by calcium carbonate crystals displaced into the semicircular canals. The Epley repositions them back to the utricle where they no longer cause symptoms.

What to watch for

Most effective when performed by a trained physiotherapist or doctor. Home versions are available but less reliable. Effective for BPPV specifically not other causes.
