for Panic Attacks
Oral lavender oil preparation (Silexan 80mg) has evidence for generalised anxiety and shows promise for anxiety disorders with physical symptom profiles including panic.
How it works
Linalool and linalyl acetate modulate voltage-gated calcium channels and serotonin receptors, producing anxiolytic effects without sedation or dependence.
What to watch for
Oral lavender (Silexan brand) has the evidence — not aromatherapy. Mild GI side effects (burping with lavender smell) reported. Not yet specifically RCT-tested for panic disorder as a primary diagnosis.
