How it works

EPA modulates inflammatory cytokines and eicosanoid production. Depression is associated with elevated inflammation in a subset of patients, and omega-3s may address this neuroinflammatory component.

High doses (>3g/day) may increase bleeding risk. Choose EPA-dominant formulas (EPA:DHA ratio β‰₯2:1). Evidence is strongest as an add-on to antidepressants, not as monotherapy.
