Quercetin

for Hay Fever

Quercetin is a plant-based flavonoid with antihistamine and anti-inflammatory properties. Used as a natural alternative for allergy-driven sinusitis symptoms. Often combined with bromelain to enhance absorption. Evidence is preliminary but it is widely used and considered low risk.

How it works

Quercetin inhibits mast cell degranulation, reducing histamine release and the allergic inflammatory cascade that drives sinonasal congestion. It also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that may reduce mucosal oedema.

What to watch for

Poor oral bioavailability — look for forms with bromelain or phospholipid complex (phytosome). Start 4–6 weeks before pollen season for best effect.
