How it works

Consolidates sleep architecture disrupted by trauma-related arousal. Reduces conditioned arousal to the bedroom and addresses the sleep-related catastrophising that maintains insomnia in PTSD.

PTSD-adapted CBT-I differs from standard CBT-I — it incorporates trauma-related sleep beliefs and may be combined with imagery rehearsal therapy for nightmares.
