How it works

Large meals increase intragastric pressure, forcing acid through the LOS. Smaller meals reduce this pressure and the total acid load in the stomach.

Last meal should be at least 3 hours before lying down. Avoid lying down or vigorous exercise immediately after eating.

Why moderate evidence

Physiologically well-supported and incorporated into standard lifestyle advice for GERD. Direct RCT evidence is limited but mechanistic evidence is strong.

Noticeably less frequent issues after about a month of consistent use. Worth sticking with.

Good results overall. Had to adjust the approach slightly but found what worked for me. Would recommend trying it.

Some improvement but not as dramatic as I hoped. Might need longer to see full benefit. Still continuing.
