How it works

Combines the benefits of gentle aerobic movement (endorphin release) with mindfulness (pain catastrophising reduction) and social engagement. Lower intensity than standard aerobic exercise makes it accessible.

Choose gentle or yin yoga styles — vigorous yoga can trigger post-exertional pain amplification. Tai chi is particularly well tolerated. Evidence supports programmes of ≥8 weeks, ≥2 sessions/week.
